SCQF Level 5

Skill Level: Intermediate

This qualification is for candidates working within the hospitality industry who work as part of a team providing a counter, take-away or table service of beverages. In this qualification candidates will develop skills in a range of areas such as:

  • the preparation and service of drinks, including alcoholic drinks,
  • cleaning equipment,
  • maintaining stock and dealing with payments.

The mandatory units cover maintaining a safe, hygienic and secure working environment working effectively as part of a hospitality team and giving customers a positive impression of yourself and your organisation. There are a wide range of optional units that can be selected to tailor the qualification to meet the needs of both the employer and employee.

  • This qualification includes a health and safety at work certificate.
  • If the candidate deals with alcohol they will also receive a Scottish alcohol licensing certificate.

Funding Available

This qualification is part of the Modern Apprenticeship Programme therefore may be funded by SDS (Skills Development Scotland).
